Last month saw the release of our Just-TV 2023 Wave 1 update – and there’s a lot to unpack. Our Wave 1 release will see the introduction of a range of new features driven by both your feedback and Microsoft’s latest updates.
In this blog, we’ll be covering some of the key updates from the Just-TV Wave 1 release, including enhanced episodic budget management, simplified approval processes and our improved onboarding experience.
An intuitive platform designed with you in mind
Our 2023 Wave 1 release aligns with Microsoft’s recent focus on onboarding, offering enhancements to ensure a seamless and stress-free onboarding experience.
We want every customer to feel confident using our Just-TV app, whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been with us for a while. We’ve therefore introduced user-friendly guidance and a range of intuitive features as part of our Wave 1 update, including teaching tips, tours and extended definitions to help you navigate the app and access support whenever you need it.

A better way to budget
With enhanced visibility, you can expect to cut time and improve budget management for episodic productions in 2023.
Our updated budget overview page allows for a comprehensive view of episodic budgets, extending the number of episodes displayed from 30 to 100. This larger dataset will enable you to effortlessly identify trends and patterns across multiple episodes, empowering you to make better-informed decisions.
Take control with Cost Manager
You asked, and we delivered. Managing your finances has just got a whole lot easier thanks to our latest Cost Manager features:
- Estimated Final Cost Drilldown: Highlight and organise expense lines with the ability to tag, search and filter entries within your Estimated Final Costs. You’ll also be able to view entries against an Expense Code.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities with Detailed Lines: Enhance financial visibility and financial decision-making with the option to view detailed lines for each schedule/expense within the Cost Manager. This includes a breakdown of cost components and the associated amounts along with vendor information, purchase order numbers and invoice numbers.
- Amend Schedule/Expense Codes: Save time and make changes with ease with our new Cost Manager feature, allowing you to modify the schedule and/or expense code for a posted transaction via the Cost Manager or Production Ledger Entries.
What’s new in Purchase Documents?
With three new Purchase Document features, our latest Just-TV app update promises to streamline the approval process and make for a more efficient, accurate management process.
- Multi Production Purchase Documents: Our latest feature hopes to enhance productivity and the accuracy of the approval process with the ability to enter one purchase order or invoice to cover multiple productions – and it doesn’t end there. You can now also build a single approval chain for all users involved in each production, eliminating the need for repetitive document approvals for those acting as approvers for multiple productions listed within one document.
- Additional Large Value Request Approval: Gain control over high-value purchase documents with additional approval requirements. Our new feature ensures any high-value purchases are reviewed and approved by the appropriate individuals prior to being processed. You’ll also be able to specify additional approval requirements for purchases that meet or exceed set thresholds, improving financial management and mitigating the risk of financial loss.
- Separated General Journal Template for Production G/L Journals: Our latest Just-TV update will offer greater clarity and organisation by enhancing the segregation of data between different journal types. Additionally, the Production G/L Journal now offers the Edit in Excel functionality, allowing you to conveniently edit your journal in Excel and seamlessly publish the data back to the journal as required.
