Getting started with a new system like Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central can be incredibly exciting, but we also know that implementation can be a challenging experience, and it’s only natural to want to understand what it will involve.
To help you get started, here are five of the questions we regularly get asked:
- “What’s the best way to integrate Business Central with the systems we already have in place? Is it even possible?”
Business Central offers a wide range of built-in APIs that are flexible and require minimal setup – there’s no code involved.
These APIs allow easy integration with a wide variety of systems, from accounts payable automation to CRMs.
All you have to do is let us know what systems you are using now, and our team at Creative Computing will assist with any necessary integrations to ensure your implementation process can be as smooth as possible. Reach out via hello@creative-computing.co.uk and we’d be happy to discuss how we could help support your integration needs.
- “How easy is it to integrate Business Central with other Microsoft products?”
As you might expect, Business Central is designed to work seamlessly with Microsoft 365. It integrates easily with tools your team will already be very comfortable and familiar with, such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
Another benefit is that your entire system will benefit from Microsoft’s world-class service, including the regular updates and technical advances that ensure Business Central continues to be among the most up-to-date tools on the market.
- “How long does it take to implement Business Central?”
Implementation timelines vary depending on the size of your business and the scale of the integration taking place.
On average, though, we find implementation generally takes between three and six months. Within that timescale, factors such as the company resources available as well as the level of engagement when it comes to testing and training will also influence the speed with which we can execute.
- “What resources will we need to have in place for the implementation?”
Implementing Business Central successfully does require formal input from your company, ideally with a dedicated project lead overseeing the process from end-to-end. This project lead should have a degree of recognised authority within your business so that they can make decisions and pull together the necessary resources. It’s also important they possess strong communication skills to help them navigate the inevitable people challenges, as well as a robust understanding of the existing systems.
If you’d like to discuss what resources your business will need, simply get in touch with our team at Creative Computing and we’ll work with you to ensure you get off to the best possible start.
- “How can I explore other uses of Business Central beyond finance automation?”
How else you use Business Central will depend on the current model you have, but we’d be very happy to explore potential uses with you. Simply share an overview of your business, including your views on the limitations of your existing setup, with hello@creative-computing.co.uk.
Our team will work with you to understand your business needs and define key criteria for success. Together, we can develop a comprehensive plan tailored to your business and objectives. If that means spending time with you to really get to the heart of your business, including its cultural and systemic idiosyncrasies, that’s an investment we’re willing to make. After all, the more we understand your situation today, the better we can help you reach your potential tomorrow.
