Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2018 Released
Earlier this month came the welcomed release of Dynamics NAV 2018, the newest version of the world’s best-selling ERP system.
Dynamics NAV 2018 is widely expected to be the penultimate release under the NAV brand name; this doesn’t mean that the product won’t continue to evolve, but may be re-branded and adapted to serve as the basis for the cloud-first offering known by Microsoft’s codename Dynamics 365 “Tenerife”.
But what does all this mean?
As modern businesses adapt to new technologies it makes sense that Microsoft offering is a cloud-first application. This means that you can access your data and systems from anywhere with the right setup.
Not only is it possible to open as a web client (ie, in your browser), you can personalise and configure the web client individually; almost every aspect is completely customisable. You can treat it like a desktop or even an interactive whiteboard – great for meetings or on the go.
There are also a number of new preconfigured Excel reports with improved integration, meaning your able to view real-time reports with just a few clicks. Among these are broadly useful ones including Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement and Trial Balance.
The Dynamics NAV Universal App for move devices is available on more devices, as well as Continuum which is a technology that allows you to project your phone to your big screen. You can also interact with keyboard and mouse through Bluetooth.
Microsoft Dynamics NAV is inspired by SMB’s for SMB’s in a variety of industries. It’s fully customisable and with the right expertise you can adapt the product to increase the efficiency of your organisation and operations quickly and easily.
