Channel 4 show Shameless may be making use of TV software as the new series is filmed.

TV software may have been in use for the next series of the hit Channel 4 show Shameless.

The Manchester Evening News reports that actors and crew from the Manchester-based drama headed to Chorlton Water Park to shoot scenes for the eighth series.

Actors Nicky Evans and Aaron McCusker - who play the brothers in the show - braved freezing water while filming the stunt, which sees Evans's character Shane locked in the boot of a vehicle in the water.

The award-winning show - created by Paul Abbot - is set to return to screens next year and the filming of 22 new episodes has been underway since May, the newspaper reports.

Shameless originally aired in 2004.

It has recently been reported that British film The Secret Diaries of Miss Anne Lister picked up the best international dramatic gong at Outfest, the 28th Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.
