Film software may help young moviemakers

Film software could soon be in use in West Dorset as budding moviemakers have been offered the chance to gain a £1,000 step on to the career ladder.The Bridport Film Society has revealed young people form the local area aspiring to be the UK's next big name director can now apply for the first ever Future Filmmaker University Grant award.
The society's committee said: "Bridport Film Society is one of Bridport's oldest community organisations and it is the right time for it to return something to the community."
It added that with increased pressure on university funding and rising fees, it wants to encourage local young people to get involved with the British film industry.
The offer is open to any local university student currently on a film studies, film writing or film production course or planning to begin one at the start of the next academic year.
Young people recently worked with former Eastenders star Todd Carty as part of a movie project by The Co-operative British Youth Film Academy.
