Film software set to be used in Scotland
Mon Jul 12 2010 13:37A charity has been awarded funding that is set to allow film software to be used in the creation of four new movies.
Film software may soon be in use in Scotland as a charity offering children the chance to try their hand at filmmaking has been awarded Lottery funding.The UK Film Council's First Light initiative has awarded £30,000 to Scottish Kids Are Making Movies (SKAAM).
The organisation will use the money to fund four short movies, which could find production costing software useful, that will be made with support from industry professionals.
Young movie enthusiasts have penned the scripts for three of the films that are set to be made and two of them - Operation Watchmen and Easier As A Spaceman - will be shot in August during the school holidays.
Sandie Jamieson, SKAMM producer, said: "The success is down to the enthusiasm and hard work of our filmmakers."
SKAAM is an charity based in Edinburgh and states that its aim is to develop the talent of young filmmakers through creative and innovative practice, as well as training, production and contact with industry professionals.
