Film software use showcased at festival

A two-day film festival is set to showcase the use of film software by students around the UK.The Inspire Film Festival at the Assembly Rooms will be held on July 17th and 18th in Tamworth with the aim of encouraging the arts, reports the Lichfield Mercury.
Films will be screened by competition entrants from schools, colleges and universities and the premiere evening is again likely to be hosted by movie critic Barry Norman and judged by Bafta award winning director Asif Kapadia, the newspaper states.
Tony Goodwin, deputy chief executive officer of Tamworth Borough Council, said: "The council is proud to be working with South Staffordshire College for their Inspire Film Festival. We are committed to providing opportunities for the local community."
He added the film festival could inspire the next Ridley Scott or Danny Boyle.
Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese has recently lent his support to the British Film Institute's search for 75 of the 'most wanted' movies from the history of film in the UK.
