Can production costing software help Bond?

The next James Bond film has reportedly been cancelled.

Production costing software may assist the next instalment of the James Bond movies, which has reportedly been cancelled due to a cash crisis.

The film, originally planned for release in 2012, was expected to combine a script by Peter Morgan and be directed by Sam Mendes - famed for American Beauty.

In April production crew on the £132 million film, starring Daniel Craig, were told it had been postponed due to "financial problems" at debt-ridden movie studio MGM, which co-funded the film.

The studio has now revealed the movie has been axed, meaning it could be years until 007 is back on the big screen and could potentially mean Daniel Craig's run as Bond is over.

In a statement, production company EON said: "We do not know when development will resume and cannot comment further at this stage."

The last Bond movie to be released was Quantum of Solace.
