Bafta announces new chairman

Tim Corrie has been selected as the new chairman of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (Bafta).The body, which recognises the use of film software with its annual Bafta Awards, has chosen Mr Corrie to succeed David Parfitt, who has held the role for the past two years.
Mr Corrie served as deputy chairman for the past 12 months, a position that will now be filled by Mr Parfitt.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Corrie said he is "honoured" to become chairman of the academy and praised Mr Parfitt for his work over the past two years.
"As the first agent working in the arena of film and television production to assume this role, I trust that some negotiating skills will stand me in good stead," he added.
Bafta, which bills itself as the leading independent charity to support the development of film, television and video games in the UK, has now had 40 chairmen in its 63-year history.
