3D film software may benefit UK cinemas
Wed Jun 30 2010 16:07UK cinemas could be set to benefit from increased use of 3D film software.
British cinema chain Cineworld may be set to benefit from an increasing uptake in 3D film software, it has been suggested. The company stated that it expects a "promising" line up of forthcoming 3D movies including Shrek Forever After and Toy Story 3 to help it overcome the slump seen during the World Cup.
It has reported revenue growth of 3.7 per cent in the first 26 weeks of the year, compared with 13.9 per cent over the first 18 weeks of the period, due in part to the distraction of the football tournament.
Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader is another film that may prove a success for the chain later in the year.
The first instalment of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows is also set to hit cinema screens later this year and its first trailer has now been made available to view.
