Budgeting software may help Scorsese with a host of British actors.

Budgeting software may play a part in the latest movie production from acclaimed director Martin Scorsese - The Invention of Hugo Cabret.

A host of British stars including Jude Law, Ray Winstone, Sir Ben Kingsley and Sacha Boren Cohen are set to appear in the film, which is due for release in December 2011.

Production for the movie is currently underway in London and will see the Oscar-winning director making his first move into 3D cinema.

The film is based on a 2007 book by Brian Selznick that topped the bestsellers list in the New York Times.

Scorsese won the best director Oscar in 2007 for The Departed after six previous nominations.

Filming for another movie set for release next year is currently underway in New Orleans, Louisiana - The Green Lantern.
