Changes to daytime schedules could see an increasing need for TV accounting software.

TV accounting software may prove useful for production companies, if suggestions are anything to go by.

According to Alison Sharman, ITV's director of factual, daytime television and GMTV, the channel is increasingly focusing on its daytime shows.

She told the Guardian that as an entertainment channel its vision for daytime is to include some of the biggest names on TV.

"We've got Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, Michael Ball, Alan Titchmarsh, Loose Women and now Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley," she said.

The BBC, ITV and Channel 4 have previously favoured gameshow formats such as The Weakest Link, Ready Steady Cook and Deal or No Deal on daytime schedules but this may be set to change as bigger budgets are allocated.

Christine Bleakley is set to join Adrian Chiles on the GMTV sofa after the duo both departed from their former roles at BBC's The One Show, with Bleakley signing a reported £1 million contract.

Networks may currently be losing audiences due to the football World Cup, which runs until next month. ADNFCR-3018-ID-19864323-ADNFCR
