Thu Jun 24 2010 13:44An increasing number of feature films are being made in Wales.
An increasing demand for film software could be seen in Wales, if recent suggestions are anything to go by.The Film Agency for Wales announced that between April 2009 and March this year a total of 13 feature films were shot in the country - with investment totalling £11.5 million.
Chief executive of the Film Agency for Wales Pauline Burt told the Western Mail that Wales is seeing an "increasingly strong film sector, supported both by Welsh Assembly Government's commitment to the creative industries and lottery funding, distributed by the Film Agency on behalf of the Arts Council of Wales."
She added the body is also looking to build on the infrastructure for film by giving support to Welsh writers, directors, producers and production companies who are involved with creating films from Wales.
It has recently been announced that Cardiff and Caernarfon-based Cambrensis Communications has won a UN contract to produce a documentary film about the worldwide impact of human smuggling.
