Production costing software might prove useful for director Adam McKay's next project.

Production costing software may be prove useful for Anchorman director Adam McKay, who is in talks to oversee the creation of a new movie.

McKay - also famed for his work on Talladega Nights - is currently working on action comedy adventure The Other Guys, which is due to be released in August.

However, his next project may be darker as he is in talks with Sony to make a big-screen adaptation of the Garth Ennis comic book The Boys, reports suggest.

The Boys - the story of a group of five CIA members with superpowers - features a string of reference to real celebrities with one of the main characters seemingly modelled on British actor Simon Pegg, while Jake Gyllenhall and Jennifer Aniston are also given mentions.

At this stage it is not yet clear if they will appear in the movie and McKay is yet to be officially announced as the director.
