Film software may have played a part in the production of the Green Hornet

The Green Hornet has had its first theatrical trailer released online, along with four images from the film.

Film software may have played a part in the creation of the Michel Gondry directed movie, which is based on the 1930s radio serial that later became movies and a TV series starring Van Williams and Bruce Lee.

Actor Seth Rogen plays the role of the superhero who inherits his father's fortune and fights crime as the masked vigilante the Green Hornet.

Cameron Diaz and Christopher Waltz also star in the movie, which is said to be something of a departure for the director.

Total Film suggests it features "more explosions and action in mere seconds than almost the entire of his work to date".

Michel Gondry grew up in Versailles and is perhaps best known for his work directing the cult-hit Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind starring Jim Carrey.
