Those planning for a National Film Centre may find budgeting software proves useful.

Budgeting software may be needed by those working on a new film centre planned for London's South Bank.

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport announced it is withdrawing funding from a number of projects and schemes that were promised to receive assistance from the last government.

Plans were announced last year for a £166m National Film Centre, to be constructed on the site of a car park behind the London Eye.

Creative industries minister Ed Vaizey said:"It is obviously disappointing that the severe financial problems facing Britain mean that the government can't contribute at present to the British Film Institute (BFI) Centre."

He added that plans are underway to "reassess" how the government helps the British film industry in order to ensure that it is ready for the challenges it faces in the next decade.

The BFI stated the cut had been anticipated and said it is committed to taking the project forward.

It has recently bee announced that British director Danny Boyle has been signed up to be the artistic director for the Olympics opening ceremony for London 2012. ADNFCR-3018-ID-19845622-ADNFCR
