3D cricket may use TV software
Tue Jun 15 2010 17:19TV software could assist the broadcast of the UK's first ever 3D cricket match.
TV software may be in use for the first ever cricket match to be broadcast in 3D in the UK.Sky Sports will be showing England's first NatWest Series One Day International against Bangladesh on July 8th and more than 1,000 pubs in the UK and Ireland will be broadcasting it in 3D.
England bowler James Anderson told the broadcaster: "High Definition was a brilliant development and 3D is even more mind-blowing! There won't be anywhere to hide on the pitch and it will be cool to get an idea of what batsmen see when I run into the wicket."
He added that he believes it is fantastic to see new technology introduced to cricket and it will offer viewers a better idea about what international cricket is like for those playing.
Sky Sports has recently been broadcasting football in 3D at pubs around the country, following the launch of the technology when Arsenal took on Manchester United last season.
