A social enterprise in Leeds has deployed a short film project to help homeless people.

A new short film initiative giving a voice to homeless people in Leeds may have used budgeting software in order to help organise the project.

The Fourth World.tv social enterprise encourages destitute people in the city to document their lives and thoughts through video, creating the opportunity to communicate with the society around them.

Participants can also learn vital skills through the scheme, as well as boosting their confidence and leading them into jobs.

Pixie Pickering, one homeless woman who created the first video and gave the project its name, now lives in Hyde Park in the city and works as a volunteer with the organisation.

She told the Guardian: "I don't know where I'd be without Fourth World. It's given me so many opportunities and has helped me turn my life around."

Fourth World.tv believes that homeless communities do not have the technology to make themselves heard in today's world, but can be helped with pioneering initiatives such as this.

Budgeting software may help small film production companies manage their costs and ensure projects are as cost-effective as possible.ADNFCR-3018-ID-19829391-ADNFCR
