ERP software 'improves company's reliability'
Thu Mar 4 2010 16:26Enterprise resource planning software has proved to be beneficial for one company.
A company that produces engineered polymers has found using enterprise resource planning (ERP) software to be beneficial.Kraton Performance Polymers implemented the software in November 2009 and has seen marked improvements.
In its 2009 annual results the company said: "In addition to providing increased reliability, the company anticipates ongoing cost savings of $5 million (£3.3 million) to $10 million will be achieved as a result of the new ERP system."
It used a single global system to introduce ERP into the organisation and the software in total cost $18 million, however $15 million of that was included in the 2009 capital expenditure amount.
The company put its increased cash flow last year down to its "strategic investments" regarding ERP software.
Sify Business reported earlier this month that small and medium-sized enterprises will pay more attention to ERP, which could include companies loosening budgets on IT technology.
