A footwear company has highlighted the benefits that introducing enterprise resource planning (ERP) software has had on its stock management processes.Klogs USA reports that since integrating ERP with its existing accounting software systems, it has been able to improve the tracking of raw materials and finished goods has been enhanced as they automatically subtracted from inventory as they go through the manufacturing process.
The firm is also able to take closer control over costs.
"With the easily accessible system reports and inquiry capabilities, we are now able to manage by exception," Jennifer Whitchurch, director of operations at Latitudes, claims.
She adds that the company - which is based in Sullivan, Missouri - now has "deep footwear functionality".
Meanwhile, Mark Vickery, chief information office for Premier Foods, recently told Computer World UK that the use of ERP solutions has allowed his organisation to harness "more efficient and effective business processes".
