Production costs for independent films appear to be falling, according to one industry expert.

A film industry expert has pointed to a fall in the production costs of independent features.

Speaking at a Screen International-sponsored panel on independent film distribution,
Samuel Hadida, co-founder of Metropolitan Film-export, points out costs for independent productions have dropped in recent months.

And those looking to use film software to help manage costs may be interested to hear his claims that top talent can be drafted into such movies at a less punitive rate, Screen Daily reports.

Indicating that the collapse of the pre-sales market has left a gap in financing, he states European producers of independent films should look away from the US market to find a distribution outlet for their features.

Producer Nicolas Chartier adds that establishing European distribution should be film companies' first port of call before attempting to release their works in the US market.

Those looking to production accounting to help them manage costs may be interested to note that Hat Trick Productions was able to use Creative Computing Solutions' Just-PRODUCE software to unify various production costing processes, drive efficiencies and save money.ADNFCR-3018-ID-19624585-ADNFCR
