An Australian firm has acknowledged the need for a "robust" enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.

Australian firm SAI Global has pointed towards its need for an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system which will help to support its growth.

Commenting as it reveals details of ERP solution upgrades, the Melbourne-based firm states such moves are "fundamentally important" as over the past five years it has grown from an AUD $100 million business (£55.5 million) to one which is worth around AUD $400 million.

Brett Lenthall, group chief information officer for SAI Global, points out that having a "robust" ERP system is important to help support the firm's "growing portfolio".

He adds that the firm, which provides information services and solutions for managing risk, has "a strong history of growth through acquisition".

Meanwhile, Barry Lederman, vice-president of business development at SoftEngine, recently told Apparel News that introducing ERP can reduce the scope of human errors - such as the incorrect processing of orders - being made in the workplace.ADNFCR-3018-ID-19578147-ADNFCR
